"Fabulous … I will absorb and process this and do a second draft. Really useful and encouraging."
Julia Pascal

The Road to Freedom
"I found your report extremely encouraging and extremely useful. You’ve picked out pretty well everything I was trying to achieve, whilst pointing out some major issues that I felt needed addressing and wasn't quite sure how to deal with. Now I feel enthused to progress to the next stage."
Ian Fuller
Writer
Shakespeare’s Fools
"… a confident, well-written and organised report that benefits from good analytical work … you have clearly put in a lot of time and effort … intelligent and helpful."
The Script Factory
Script Reader
As a Head of Story and Script Consultant I assist the likes of HandMade Films, Scott Free Productions, Lolafilms, Ilion Animation and Wizja TV in appraising and developing scripts to a standard that attracts finance and top creative talent.
Beyond producing extensive story notes and line-by-line feedback, I help to sustain the enthusiasm of writers and directors over successive drafts. This responsibility demands screenwriting ability, diplomacy, an understanding of each creative perspective, market awareness and, in the case of adaptations, keen knowledge of the source material.
Through scriptreader.co.uk I consult for independent producers and writers, and have appraised countless scripts for industry bodies such as the UK Film Council, Screen Yorkshire and The Script Factory.
On occasion, I am called upon to write script revisions, screen story treatments and original story ideas.

I have worked professionally as a writer, director and producer since I graduated in 1993 with a BA (Hons) in Screenwriting from the Surrey Institute, where I co-wrote the Fuji Film Awards winner of ‘91. I then attended Birkbeck, University of London’s Screenwriting courses, deconstructed fairytales with the Radical Anthropology Group at the University of East London and received advanced training on the Script Factory’s Industry Reader and Development Executive Course.
